Zack Snyder has indicated that his next project will be an adaptation of The Fountainhead.
Snyder’s last directorial effort was 2017’s Justice League. Snyder, who remains the film’s credited director, stepped aside during production following a personal tragedy, and Joss Whedon finished the film.
Other upcoming projects for Snyder include producing the DC adaptations Aquaman and the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel. Deadline noted that Snyder has also been developing The Last Photograph, about a journalist in Afghanistan during the war.
The Fountainhead was written by novelist Ayn Rand and released in 1943. Six years later, Warner Bros. released a film version, starring Gary Cooper and Patricia Neal.
The book tells the story of a young architect who butts heads with the architectural establishment. The Fountainhead is Rand’s second novel, and was published 14 years before Atlas Shrugged.
As of now, Snyder has not released other details about his adaptation, including the possible cast, release date, or studio.
