It’s pretty amazing how quickly laptops have progressed from expensive, but ultimately underpowered, to the modern versions. Higher-end laptops have desktop-grade GPUs in them, so the tradeoff between power and portability is smaller and smaller. Prices, too, are at a point now where buying a laptop as a matter of convenience can land you a good machine at a great price.

With the insane cryptocurrency mining bubble right now, GPU prices are through the roof, so if you’re after a gaming rig at a not-insane price, a laptop is a great place to start. Whether you just want something for work, school, or to replace a desktop, it’s a great time to pick up a laptop. We’ll be updating this list throughout the year with the best deals, so make sure to keep checking back.

Dell Deals

Dell New Latitude 5590 for $1269

For just under $1300 you get a solid computer that will do almost everything you need, workwise, and since it has an 8th-gen Intel processor with Intel UHD 620 Graphics. The best part is you can upgrade to an M.2 PCIe solid state drive for just $50 more. If you think your SSD is fast now, you’re wrong. I’m sorry, you just are. An M.2 PCIe drive will absolutely blow it out of the water.

Dell Inspiron 11 3000 $180

This ultra-portable runs Windows 10 and comes in below $200 even before the extra discount is applied. If you want to work on the go but don’t want to break the bank, this is an excellent value.

Alienware 13 $989 with code TENOFF

The Alienware 13 is one of my favorite computers, and while its available in a ton of different configurations, this one is a great place to start on your journey to the very-near sci-fi future. This configuration has a dedicated GTX 1050 GPU and an Intel Core i5-7300HQ.

Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming for $949

The Inspiron 15 7000 is the next step in the Inspiron Gaming line, and it’s a nice upgrade from the 5000. It certainly looks the part of a gaming laptop, and the display is incredibly thin. Almost like a razor. But don’t try to shave with it!

Alienware 15 for $1429 with Code TENOFF

Alienware laptops are among the most attractive and best-built going, and this Alienware 15 is a beast. Featuring an Intel Core i7-7700HQ and GTX 1060 6GB and a fantastic display, this is a solid laptop at a great price.

ASUS FX503 Gaming Laptop for $879

This ASUS strikes a great balance between power and performance. You get a dedicated GTX 1050 GPU and a 1TB HDD to store all your games. It also has a nice backlit keyboard, so people know you mean business.

Razer Blade 14-inch Gaming Laptop for $2299

The Razer Blade is one of the most well-put together laptops out there right now. The entire thing is high-class, right down to the Chroma-enabled keyboard. This is a great laptop at a reduced price, for serious gaming on the go.

Aorus X5 Gaming Laptop for $1749

This total monster of a laptop features a 2880×1620 G-Sync enabled display, an overclocked Intel Core i7 6820HK and a GTX 1070 8GB graphics card. This is a serious gaming machine. It also has an RGB keyboard, which is unbelievably crucial for gaming.

Acer Predator 15 for $1749

I’m a huge fan of the Acer Predator line. They’re really solid performing, comfortable computers with lots of nice features. This one has a G-Sync enabled display pushed by a GTX 1070 8GB graphics card.

MSI GL62M for $899

The MSI gaming laptop line is another solid balance between power and price. This deal gets you the GL62M for less than a thousand bucks, and there’s an Intel i7-7700HQ hiding under that mean looking chassis. That’s a mean chip. Don’t make it mad!
