Solo: A Star Wars Story is headed to the South of France for its premiere on May 15 at the Cannes Film Festival, just 10 days before its release in theaters on May 25.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Solo’s appearances at the international film festival. Solo is not the first Stars Wars film to debut at Cannes — Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005) also had their premieres at the festival. Hopefully, Solo will be better received than its predecessors, but with a shaky production that resulted in the firing of directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, a successful opening isn’t a guarantee.
In other Solo news, director Ron Howard replied to a fan on Twitter who asked if there will be another trailer for Solo, simply replying, “Yep.” While we’re still not sure when the new trailer will come out, the fast-approaching theatrical release date would indicate that we won’t have to wait much longer.

David Griffin still watches DuckTales in his pajamas with a cereal bowl in hand. He’s also the TV Editor for IGN. Say hi on Twitter.
